Spring Registration Starts Tuesday March 7 at 8am

Registration, Program Cancellations & Refunds All programs require minimum participation to run. If program minimums are not met, programs are cancelled and a full credit will be applied to your account. Late Registration Customers have until the start of the second class to register for a program that has already started. Any registration after the start of the second class will require approval by the Program Coordinator. Program Withdrawal Requests Requests are required prior to the start of the program. Non attendance is not accepted as a cancellation request. Substitute registrants are not permitted. Single day programs must give 24 hours notice to be eligible for a credit or transfer. All others are 72 hours. Medical Withdrawal Requests Requests must be accompanied with a medical certificate and received prior to the end of the program. Credits and Refunds Credits will remain on account for future program registration for up to 2 years. A refund can be requested which will be issued back by cheque, regardless of original payment type. The City of Pitt Meadows issues cheques bi-weekly. If you require a refund, please call 604.465.2452. Refunds take up to 2 to 4 weeks to process. Class Exchanges A class exchange may be possible based on availability, prior to the start of the second class. If there is no space available in the requested class, a refund will be processed in accordance with the Refund Policy or a credit applied to the account. Receipts The receipt you receive when you signed up for the program can be used for income tax purposes. Remember to keep your receipts. If you require a replacement copy, please contact the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre. Please allow time to have your request processed.

Youth Lounge Ages: 11-18Y Membership includes access to the following supervised activities: FREE use of Youth Lounge room equipment (billiards, foosball, table tennis).

Annual membership for $10. Parent/Guardian consent is required for all membership applications to be approved. Account creation may take place either in person at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre (PMFRC), or over the phone with our customer service team at 604.465.2470. Parents/Guardians must complete an information form on behalf of the child(ren), and have their contact details added to the child’s account. This helps us serve you better by supporting your children while they are using our drop-in service, in the event of an emergency or an incident that requires your immediate awareness.

• Drop-in sessions require in-person sign-in at the front desk with confirmation of admission or a valid membership scan card. A sign-up sheet will be available 60 minutes prior. First come first serve; we do not reserve spots, have a call-in process or online booking. • We foster a positive experience and participation requires responsible action and behaviours. • Sessions are unsupervised and require you to follow facility guidelines and etiquette. Pickleball, volleyball and ball hockey may have a volunteer leader to assist. • Sessions are round robin with all play. Private court use is not allowed during busy sessions. For private use and/or competition practice, consider a gym rental, enquiries at bookings@pittmeadows.ca. • Participants must set-up, take-down and return equipment to the storage room within scheduled times. • The facility closes at 9:30pm on Monday to Friday and 8pm on Saturday and Sunday. If you are going to shower, you must be ready to leave the facility by closing times. • Bring your equipment: Pickleball paddles & balls, badminton racquets & birdies, basketballs, floor hockey sticks (no taped and/or wooden blades). • Wear appropriate athletic attire and safety gear for your sport. Fitness Starter with a Basic Plan Ages 13+ Where and how do you begin on your fitness journey? Book an appointment with our staff and they will give you a basic plan and show you some exercises and techniques that you can take away and build your own basic fitness program. Frequently Asked Questions What does it cost to rent each of the rooms? Rates vary based on room, facility, and capacity. These fees are outlined in the Bylaw Fee Setting – Parks, Recreation and Culture Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 2935, 2023. Facility bookings staff will help you choose the best fit for the type of event you are planning and your budget. Can I tour the facility? To schedule a self-guided tour contact staff at 604.465.2499 or 604.465.2470. Do I need insurance/licenses for my event? Insurance requirements vary depending on the number of attendees and the specific activities being conducted during your rental. Facility Bookings staff will work with you to assess an appropriate level of coverage for your specific booking. How much is the damage deposit for rentals? Any event with alcohol will require a $1000.00 damage deposit to be paid when you book. The damage deposit for other events will vary depending on attendees and activities. This information will be discussed during booking.

What are the SOCAN and Re:Sound fees on my contract? SOCAN and Re:Sound are Federally mandated tariffs that must be paid anytime music is played in a public facility. The City of Pitt Meadows collects these fees and submits payment to these organizations quarterly. Please visit www. socan.ca and www.resound.ca for more information. When can I pick up keys for my facility booking? Keys can be picked up 24 hours prior to the facility booking and will need to be dropped off within 24 hours after the event. Facility bookings staff will provide you with all the requirements for unlocking and locking the booked facilities.

Park Playboxes What is in the Playbox? The Playboxes are stocked with sports equipment, interactive play equipment and a manual of active game ideas to help guide family play and connection. They provide unlimited access for families to get outdoors and engage in active play. Everyone is able to access the box and it is FREE! Where are the Live 5-2-1-0 Playboxes? Pitt Meadows Athletic Park by the playground (11431 Bonson Rd.) Waterfront Commons Park in Osprey Village beside the path to the river (Barnston View Rd.) How do I access the Playboxes? 1. Open the box and have fun with your family and friends! 2. Put all the equipment back in the box once you have finished. 3. Come back again and enjoy!

Active Birthday Parties $150* for 15 children, *Plus an additional flat rate charge of $45 for groups of 16-30 (maximum of 30) HOW TO REGISTER! Step 1 Choose your party type. Step 2 Review the details below. Step 3 Mini Gym Party, Ages 0-5Y Day: Sunday Times**: 10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm. This party is designed for younger children interested in active play. Our recreation leader will set up half the gym with all of the mini gym equipment such as: play balls, mats, ride on toys, hula hoops and much more. Multi-Sport Party, Ages 6-14Y Day: Sunday Times**: 10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm. Register! Registering online will reserve your time slot. Staff will contact you within a week to confirm party type and number of guests in attendance OR register by phone at 604.465.2470 or in person at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre.

Our recreation leader will play active sports with the group and run a variety of gym games such as: soccer, ball hockey, badminton, dodgeball, group games, and more! **Only two party bookings per day (Parties run on Sundays). Are we allowed to have sparklers for the cake? No, as these are deemed a fire hazard. Standard size birthday candles are permitted, but sparklers are not. What do we do if we want more than 15 children for the party? Our ratio of 1 leader to 15 children means that we will have to schedule more staff at an additional flat rate charge of $45 for groups of 16-30 in addition to the base fee. Can parents pay for extra children when they arrive? No, the staff to child ratio is set to 1:15. For safety reasons, if the party organizers arrive with more children they will not be able to attend the party. Does my infant count towards the number of children attending? If the child is actively participating in the activities they are included in the ratio. Can the party organizer bring alcohol? No. Alcohol is not permitted under any circumstances.

FAQS What is included in the fee? ($150/15 max children, additional charge applies to more participants) Use of the lounge - play pool, foosball, ping pong, listen to music, access to playstations and arcade (parental discretion). This is where children can have their cake, food and drinks, open presents, and relax. Gymnasium and kitchen area (including a standard fridge). The fee includes a facility host who will open the rooms for you, and facilitate the active play or sports. The host will set up the lounge with tables, chairs and table cloths prior to the start of the party and remove once the party ends. Any items you bring in including decorations, you are responsible for cleaning and removing. Why is food not included? Due to the volume of dietary restrictions, allergies and customizations we have left the food component up to you - the good news is that we have reduced the fee to not impact your party budget!

Kids Gym is a registered afterschool recreational program focused on physical activity for kids in Grade 1 to 5 (6Y-11Y). This playgroup is for all families with children from birth to 6 years old and consists of free play, circle time, crafts, drumming, healthy snacks, and bus tickets, as well as toys and resources in a warm cultural environment. The Story Blanket program focuses on traditional Indigenous cultural teachings, such as the Medicine Wheel and the Seven Sacred Teachings. A local Elder attends and provides traditional knowledge and support along with Fraser River Indigenous Society Aboriginal Infant Development Program/Aboriginal Supported Child Development Consultants. Parks Projects Update Pitt Meadows is the Natural Place where parks, open spaces, sports fields and green spaces are key to the way of life in the city. Learn about some recent Parks projects. Pre-requisite: L1 Training Program. After graduation from an L1 program, fencers move into our L2 and then L3 programs. Students will be learning in the L2 program for 1-2 years as they move from basic skills to more advanced technical and tactical knowledge. These programs are skill assessment based, using an advancement system from the Canadian Fencing Federation similar to other martial arts programs. Students must have their own equipment.

In red-level, players will be introduced to the game in an easy and fun way. When indoors, the game is played on a badminton court. While fun for anyone, the sport does require a moderate level of physical agility. This beginner level is for participants new to the game and/or never played before. You will be introduced to the basics of the game and gain skills and knowledge to be able to navigate your play to participate in one of the

Let's take the game outside. Pickleball is a popular sport for adults and families that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Instruction will cover game basics: dinking, volleys, serve, returns, 3rd shot drops and court positioning. You will also learn how to set-up for general play on your own time at PMAP racquet courts.
