Fencing - Youth Beginners 9Y+ 9Y - 15Y

Offered by Tri-City Fencing Academy, this youth program begins with a four-session introductory class, teaching the basic actions of the sport, allowing students to progress in their fencing skills in a short amount of time. Fencing is a great cardiovascular workout, improving hand-eye coordination, concentration, mental focus and physical stamina. It provides a fun and competitive atmosphere that builds self-confidence and respect. All equipment provided.

Fencing - L1 Training 9Y - 15Y

Pre-requisite: Fencing Youth Beginners. After completion of the beginners program, students can enter the L1 Training program and will develop strong technical sport fencing basics. A deposit of $100 is required to sign out the equipment. Students are expected to begin purchasing their own equipment in their third month of L1.

Cycling Adventure (5-6 Yrs) 5Y - 6Y

Each day leaders will take participants on a spin around Pitt Meadows. Participants will stop for a picnic lunch and visit local sites in and around the Recreation Centre. This week will also touch on bike safety practices that will serve your children year round. Participants are required to bring their own bike, helmet, water bottle, and lunch/snack. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please note that for safety reasons this camp will not be using local main roads. Fencing - L2 Training Program 11Y - 19Y

Pre-requisite: L1 Training Program. After graduation from an L1 program, fencers move into our L2 and then L3 programs. Students will be learning in the L2 program for 1-2 years as they move from basic skills to more advanced technical and tactical knowledge. These programs are skill assessment based, using an advancement system from the Canadian Fencing Federation similar to other martial arts programs. Students must have their own equipment.
