Parks Projects Update Pitt Meadows is the Natural Place where parks, open spaces, sports fields and green spaces are key to the way of life in the city. Learn about some recent Parks projects. PMAP Racquet Courts Resurfacing The resurfacing of the racquet courts at the Pitt Meadows Athletic Park are now in play! The two tennis courts were ready for play in mid-July and the six dedicated pickleball courts were complete by mid-September. What's all the Buzz about? Did you notice the new Air Bee & Bees in Pitt Meadows parks? In August of 2022, the Parks Department installed six new bee hotels. Solitary bees carry out a vital role in our ecosystem, they are super pollinators and are up to three times more effective at pollinating. The new hotels are located at the Civic Centre, Harris Road Park, MacLean Park, North Commons Park, Hammond Boulevard, and Shoreline Park. A special thanks to the kids from this year’s Build it Camp. They helped create these new spaces for the bees to live. Community Garden Expansion Twenty new garden plots were added to the east side of the current community garden in October 2022. The Pitt Meadows Garden Society operates the community garden and manages the waitlist, for details visit pmcg.ca. Future Garden Park - Grabenhorst Property The City of Pitt Meadows has purchased the Rose Grabenhorst estate property for a future public garden and park space.
