It’s said that Rattenbury’s spirit still walks the halls of many of his monumental creations. Robert Georges’s ancestral name is Tsiyálten from the Tsleil Waututh Nation with ties to the Squamish and Sts’ailes Nation(s). Robert has been making traditional drums for 6 years and handheld rattles for 4 years. He

shares his cultural and traditional knowledge and the importance of the drum and what it means to Indigenous people through his drum and rattle making workshops.

Kerrie Charnley is a member of the Pierre Family and the Katzie First Nation. Kerrie began working with fibre when she was 8 years old with her grandmother, a Coast Salish knitter. More recently she holds two Coast

Salish weaving apprenticeships. Kerrie has a passion for sharing the practice and the history and values embedded in Coast Salish Peoples’ weaving. Traditional Drum Making - Workshop 1 16Y+ Under the guidance of Tsiyálten, you will be making your very own 12” traditional hand drum.
