Parks Projects Update Pitt Meadows is the Natural Place where parks, open spaces, sports fields and green spaces are central to our way of life. Learn about some recent Parks projects. Trans Canada Trail Improvements Thanks to a $3,500 grant from the Trans Canada Trail, the City launched a youth-led trail improvement project at Shoreline Park in August 2025. This initiative enhanced the trail through maintenance efforts such as blackberry trimming and trail repairs, while offering valuable hands-on experience to local youth. 1,200 Pounds of Produce Grown With support from the Local Food Infrastructure Fund, the Edible Garden at Grabenhorst Garden is growing fresh, healthy produce for our community. The goal is to promote food security, support local non-profits, and inspire residents to grow their own food. Volunteers play a key role in this initiative helping to harvest fruits and vegetables, track produce weights, and ensure donations are delivered to local organizations in need. Harris Road Park Concession Now Open The Harris Road Park Concession opened this summer and will operate from March through September. To improve the visitor experience, Parks staff added new picnic tables, providing a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a snack. Bonson Park Re-Greening Grant 40 new trees have been planted at Bonson Park, thanks to the generous support of the BC Hydro Re-Greening Grant. These trees will enhance the park’s natural beauty, provide shade for visitors, and contribute to a healthier urban forest for generations to come. 1 2 3 4
