Youth Disc Golf 12Y - 16Y
Looking to try something new, get active outdoors and have fun with friends and family? Try out our brand-new Introduction to Disc Golf course, designed for beginners! This program will introduce you to the exciting and rewarding sport of disc golf, where you'll learn the fundamentals of throwing techniques, understanding course layout and the basic rules of the game. We encourage you to bring your own discs; however, all necessary equipment will be provided, so just bring your enthusiasm! Register today and discover why disc golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. Let’s have fun, make new friends and enjoy the outdoors together! This is accomplished through discussions, event planning, orientations, hands-on experience with Pitt Troopers Day Camps and much more. If you are interested in learning how to become a better, more knowledgeable leader, join us in this development program to help explore your skills! To participate in this program, training and onboarding are mandatory. Some of this training will take place during our signature citywide events leading up to our summer camp programs (Pitt Meadows Day, Canada Day). Instructor: Arts and Recreation Staff Location: Youth Centre Lounge - PMFRC Fee: $50.00 Teen Weight Training 13Y - 18Y Our certified personal trainer will introduce you to the basics of weight training and the benefits of a program that will work for your body. Teens will be taught the importance of proper body mechanics and form. Come dressed to exercise, as you will get in a workout each session. Prerequisite: Youth 13 to 15 must have booked and completed a youth orientation in advance of the program start date. Spending time at home alone while your parents are busy running errands or working? This Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe program provides the skills needed to safely look after yourself. We will cover basic first aid and interactive lessons and scenarios that will help you and your parents feel more confident when you are home alone. Instructor: Pacific First Aid Location: Multipurpose Room - PMFRC Sessions: 1 Fee: $65.00 Sa 11:30am-4:30pm #13889 Apr 12 Sa 11:30am-4:30pm #13890 Jun 14 Babysitter Training 11Y - 15Y This program will teach skills needed to care for children. Topics include safety, basic first aid, managing behaviours, child development, care for babies, toddlers and children, communication, and more. You will receive a Canadian Red Cross Babysitters Certificate upon successful completion of the tested material. Please bring a pen, a water bottle, a bagged lunch and wear comfortable clothes.
