Art and Fungi Walk 16Y+

Engage your senses as we encounter fungi; learn about their ways of life and how they interact with other members of their ecosystems, including humans, in both contemporary and ancient times. The walk will incorporate artistic activities, awakening all of our senses as we move through the land, listen to fungi sounds through a biosonification device and discover fungi aromas. Through a series of demonstrations, they will create unique botanical prints by transferring pigments from local native plants through the process of steaming and immersion techniques onto paper (also known as eco-printing). Instructors will cover how to select and prepare plant materials, discuss composition and demonstrate the step-by-step process of creating a botanical print. The upcycled structures and statues throughout the garden add a rustic charm and highlight the gardens commitment to sustainability. 3. The rhododendrons run along this pathway with early, mid and late blooming varieties.
