Parks Projects Update Pitt Meadows is the Natural Place where parks, open spaces, sports fields and green spaces are key to the way of life. The multi-sport courts are now open and ready for play! In March and April a portion of the trail and the courts were closed for resurfacing repairs and improvements. These enhancements were part of the Mitchell Park upgrade plan and are now complete. In Full Bloom! Despite the prolonged winter season, the spring blooms around Pitt Meadows did put on a show - just a little later than usual. The Fraser Way Roundabout was impressive and fragrant with multi-coloured hyacinths! The parks team works year-round to keep our parks and gardens The parks department received helpful feedback from the community and user groups on space planning and amenities of four key park projects. This information will help guide the planning process. For full details visit pittmeadows.ca/parksprojects. Helping to Protect Urban Trees For the week leading up to Earth Day, tree watering bags were available for a wholesale price at City Hall. During this week, Troopers will partake in a journey like no other as with every craft, experiment and game; Troopers will work together to find the greatest treasure of all. WEEK 3 (JULY 17-21) – OUTWIT, OUTPLAY, OUTLAST Welcoming all castaways! Troopers will be placed into teams as they earn points through activities and challenges in their pursuit to become the ultimate survivor! WEEK 4 (JULY 24-28) – STAYCATION Not to toot one’s horn, but we are the “Natural Place” and with that comes responsibility. Troopers will journey into their backyards to cultivate a love and understanding of nature. Join us for a fun, educational, and inclusive camp. WEEK 5 (JULY 31-AUGUST 4) – MYSTERY You must be asking yourself, what is Mystery Week? All we can share at this time is that it will be a week to remember. Each day, the theme will be something a little different; whether it’s “Under the Sea” or “Jurassic”, we won’t know the theme of each day until it comes around! WEEK 6 (AUGUST 8-11) – AROUND THE WORLD Nothing beats a weekend in Pitt Meadows… though, there are some close seconds. During this week, Troopers will travel in first class as they explore the wonderful world around them!
